Fundraising — Common Questions

As a registered Public Benefit Organisation (PBO 930029333), donations to HAODQC may qualify for a Section 18A tax deduction under the Income Tax Act. We can issue a Section 18A receipt on request. Please consult your tax adviser to confirm eligibility for your specific circumstances.

All donations go directly to the Centre and are used for the operational running of HAODQC — covering staff wages, food, utilities, maintenance, transport, and resident care needs. No funds are used for administrative overheads beyond what is necessary to operate. The residents oversee all finances.

Yes. We have a specific Needs List of items we currently require — from beds and appliances to building materials and vehicle parts. Visit our Needs List page or contact us to arrange an in-kind donation.

Email your proof of payment to quads@telkomsa.net with your name, contact details, and the amount donated. We will issue a receipt and can provide a Section 18A certificate on request for qualifying donations.
